If ever the word “simplicity” applied appropriately to a product, there’s an argument that the Essenza coffee machine is it. This machine is designed entirely to be compact and ergonomic – not quite going to the small extremes and speed that we see the Nespresso Pixie range, however. It is designed to deliver a delicious espresso or lungo drink, in a way that gives consistent quality time after time.
Customisable water levels, with an up-to-0.9L tank tucked away at the back of the machine, mean that you can select how much water to add to make the espresso/lungo that you enjoy most. The machine also boasts a 9-minute automatic timer that switches the machine off when not in use.
The Essenza seems to be the one-stop-shop for those who enjoy good espresso but don’t need ultimate speed, where the Nespresso Pixie machine may be the slightly better choice. Good water control and thermal control in pressing the espresso creates a lovely tasting product comparable to many good coffee houses.
One thing to note though is that because the machine does not come with a cup / glass warmer, to ensure you heat your container with hot water before having your coffee go into it.
Finally, for those who enjoy their milk-based coffees a lot more such as lattes or cappuccinos, we would recommend the Lattissima range of Nespresso coffee machines over the Essenza. However, for those who purely enjoy their espressos and lungos, this is perfect.
